I have been writing since I was seven years old, although there have been times you could scarcely believe it by my lack of activity. A dear friend of mine sent me an email years ago that simply said, "Tumika, we must do what writers do and write." It were as though she could sense my inactivity. Sometimes I can hear her melodic voice telling me to do just that as if we were sharing a conversation. The sender of that email was my friend and fellow writer, Nichole L. Shields, who made her transition last April. I miss her dearly.
I look forward to the coming months and of the process of sharing my innermost thoughts and feelings with you. Feel free to write back. I welcome your thoughts. And for you fellow writers out there, I will encourage you as I have been encouraged. We must do what writers do...and write.
